The early years of a child’s life are the most important for success in school and in life. Parents are children’s first and most influential teachers. All young children and their families deserve opportunities to succeed.
The goal of the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program is to provide parents with children prenatal to kindergarten entry with child development information and parenting support, provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues, prevent child abuse and neglect, and prepares children for school.
The PAT program includes one-on-one home visits, monthly group meetings, developmental screenings, and connects families to different resources they may need. Parent educators conduct home visits using structured visit plans and guided planning tools.
